The Boston Marathon 2023 will be the 127th event since the race began on March 15th, 1987. The B.A.A. marathon is the first marathon to be run in the U.S.A. and is commemorated annually with thousands of spectators and participants.

The April 17th, 2023, Boston Marathon is only 116 days away, and the thrill of having the world's elite athletes competing for the honors is highly anticipated. Over 30,000 athletes will participate in the event, making it the year's marathon.

The names of elite athletes to participate are yet to be announced. Still, the world record holder Eliud Kipchoge is already on record to make a debut appearance and challenge world champion Gotytom Gebresiase of Ethiopia for the honors.

The event is open for everybody as long as they can match the qualifying times set in their age category.

Boston Marathon 2023 Registration

Unfortunately, the B.A.A. Boston marathon 2023 registration is already closed, and participants should have received a confirmation email by now. The registration process concluded on September 17th, 2022, and only a few more names can enter the race through charity organizations.

In the unfortunate event that you miss out on the standard registration, there are 5000 slots still open and reserved for 42 official B.A.A. charity organizations. You can check out the various charity registration procedures for eligibility and get registered for the 2023 event.

Boston Marathon 2023 Field Breakdown

A field size breakdown becomes necessary, with the race set to attract over 30,000 participants in different race categories.

It will adopt the Boston Marathon 2022 structure.

● 6000+ invitational runners (entries via sponsors, charities, partners, and elite runners)

There will be separate wave starts for runners, similar to past B.A.A. marathons.

Boston Marathon 2023 Qualifiers Window

You must run the qualifying time at a certified marathon within the stipulated window period. The Boston Marathon 2023 window is already closed (September 1st, 2021, to September 16th, 2022).

The 128th Boston Marathon will be held on April 15th, 2024. The qualifying window is already open as of September 1st, 2022.

● Cut-Off Time: 6 hours after the last official start time of the fourth wave runners. (if you finish beyond this period, you won't feature on the official list of the race results times.

Eligibility of Runners

All runners must meet the qualifying times for their respective age categories and pay for registration via the online B.A.A. platform or the Athletes' Village.

No runner will be allowed to participate without a number Bib, a government-issued I.D., and a recent photo.

After receiving a registration confirmation email, you can pick up your bib number and package at the Boston Marathon Expo located at Hynes Convention Center.
