Join The Canberra Times Marathon 2023 - Treadmill Express Plus

The course record was set by Australian John Andrews in 1995, who stopped the clock at 2:15:02. The winner of the Canberra Times Marathon festive 2022 men's category managed a time of 2:31:28.

The women's category for the same event was taken by Marnie Ponton, who crossed the finish at 2:43:27. The 2023 Canberra Times festive marathon event is expected to be competitive, and participants are looking forward to reducing the time and improving their personal best.

All events are scheduled to start at the usual National Rose Gardens and conclude near the Old Parliament House.

Is the Canberra Marathon Course Tough?

Yes, participants from previous events say that the marathon course has limited flat roads. You can expect the streets to be hilly and have a few steep climbs, but overall you will enjoy the run and take in the beautiful scenery.

It's a one-lap course that takes you through the Australian capital street, then crosses the artificial lake Burley griffin at the center of Canberra, taking you to the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge and Kings Avenue Bridge.
