The Dublin marathon 2023 is scheduled for Sunday, 29 October 2023. It's only 10 months away, giving the over 25,000+ participants enough time to train and perform at their best form as they aim to improve their personal times.
The Dublin Marathon has come a long way since 1980 and is now ranked as the fourth largest marathon in Europe, famous for attracting participants from 60+ countries.
Entry and Lottery
Participants that have run in the last Irish Life Dublin Marathon events have a guaranteed slot as long as they pay the entry fee in time.
Registration of participants and the lottery is closed. But you can still wait for the second round lottery to claim unredeemed slots. The date will be announced closer to the Dublin Marathon 2023 event.
The Dublin Marathon 2023 Course
The course route remains unchanged from previous events, and runners will experience the beautiful sceneries of Dublin as they run the on-lap marathon through the city.
The race starts at the City Centre in Fitzwilliam Street Upper and concludes close to the iconic Trinity College near Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green.
The Dublin Marathon 2023 course is predominantly fast and flat, and runners can challenge all sorts of records, including the world record, national record, course record, and personal records.
Dublin Marathon 2023 Cut-off Time
The cut-off time is seven hours from the start time, and participants that won't have finished the race will continue from the pavement as the roads re-open.
Run Schedule
There are four waves for the Dublin Marathon 2023 event scheduled to start at different times:
● Wave 1: 8:45 am
● Wave 2: 9:05 am
● Wave 3: 9:25 am
● Wave 4: 9:45 am.
Wave slots are assigned based on previous times or an estimated time for new entrants. Dublin Marathon 2023 has no race qualifying times, and age will be confirmed on race day.
Bib Number and Race Pack
Collect the bib number and race pack at the Irish Life Dublin Marathon Expo 2023. The event will be held at the Royal Dublin Society–RDS main Hall.
The collection time is as follows:
● 27, Friday, October 2023: 12 pm – 7:00 pm
● 28, Saturday, October 2023: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Important: The deadline for collecting the race pack is Saturday at 6:00 pm.
Refund, Defer, and Transfer
The Dublin Marathon 2023 has a refund window that'll be announced later in 2023. You can't transfer your entry to the Dublin Marathon 2024 event. Transfer, selling, or swapping race numbers and entries is PROHIBITED and will result in entry cancellation.

The Dublin Marathon weather is always favorable. Average temperatures are between 12-14 degrees Fahrenheit.
