Frame

The Xterra TRX3500 sports a heavy-gauge steel frame. It surprisingly looks quite streamlined for a treadmill that weighs about two hundred pounds. So, yes, the material is super sturdy. The welding is top-notch, and at first glance, it looks as sleek as a supermodel's gym equipment!

Running Deck

The running surface is 60 inches long and 20 inches wide. Don't worry; you're not going to have trouble wedging this one into your apartment. What we're trying to say is- as far as running is concerned, you'll have plenty of workout space on your new TRX3500. It's large enough for tall users. So, you can walk, run, and even bolt if you want to!

Drive Motor

You'll be happy to know that a powerful treadmill like the TRX3500 is equipped with an equally powerful motor! Xterra treadmills, especially these TR models, start from a 2.25 HP gear. A 2.0 HP is considered average for home workouts. The Xterra Fitness Xterra treadmill, on the other hand, features a beefy 3.0 HP motor. It's how the treadmill revs up to a speedy 12mph, to begin with.

Console

Xterra TRX3500 definitely doesn't disappoint when it comes to the console. You get ten buttons for the speed and another ten for the incline. There are speed and incline keys on the handlebar as well. So, you can turn these up and down from not only the display screen but also the handle! How cool is that?

Belt & Incline

According to customer reviews, you can incline its deck up to 12%, which is a pretty awesome rating for treadmills for home use. Its speed and incline buttons surround the 6.5" LCD console display. The tread belts are thick, comfy, and durable.

Something tells us you'll love the XTRASoft Deck Cushion. It absorbs impacts from your steps so you can go much longer without cramping your feet!

Wireless Connection

Like the Xterra Fitness TRX4500, this unit is yet to feature a wireless chest strap. Either way, the Bluetooth connection on this fitness machine is pretty rock solid. You can finally access your daily workout changes and milestones from your phone via the Xterra Fitness App.

Heart Rate Monitoring

The treadmill allows you to stay at safe heart rate levels depending on your age, weight, and any heart problem you might have. Xterra treadmills are safe in the sense that their heart rate monitoring is pretty spot-on. They have hand-grip pulse sensors that display your heart rate on the screen as you go!

Assembly and Maintenance

Setting up a huge treadmill is not a piece of cake. Follow through, and you'll get it done!

First off, remove the shipping material. Hold the left upright straight and connect it to the frame with the 8 Hex head bolts and 8 Flat washers. Repeat it for the right side.

Next, attach the console to the brackets on the left and right uprights with four button head socket bolts and four split washers. The crossbar goes in the middle of the two uprights. Secure it with a Philips Head screwdriver and four-button head socket bolts.

And your Xterra TRx3500 assembly is officially done!

Dirt and hair may accumulate inside the air inlets, so vacuum the underside of your deck every month. Remember to apply the silicone lube to the belt after every 180 hours of use.

Best Alternatives to Xterra TRX3500

The brands NordicTrack and SOLE have excellent treadmills with some really cool features. So, if you want to look at more options other than the Xterra Fitness TRX3500 treadmill, keep going.

NordicTrack Commercial Series Treadmill 1750 (1 Year iFit Membership)

With the 1-year iFit membership that comes with this 3.75 HP treadmill, you can take your workout regimen to new heights! The NordicTrack 1750 models include a 10" HD smart touchscreen for following motivational, trainer-led workouts.

We also liked the AutoBreeze cooling fan and the comfortable FlexSelect cushioning. Finally, the treadmill backs a whopping 350lbs load. We're on the plus side ourselves, and we couldn’t wreck these treadmills!

SOLE F63 Treadmill

This unit is almost the same size as the Xterra treadmill. It comes with six workout routines, a heart rate chest strap, LCDs, and many other user-friendly specs.

The running surface is a bit short, however. At 20" × 55", the treadmill can be elevated up to 15% for a heavy workout. We personally think it's a good dimension for a running deck. Users six feet and above had no trouble working this fitness machine. Read here the full review of SOLO F63 treadmill.

2. Which Xterra treadmill is the best?

TRX3500 is the best fitness unit from Xterra for under 1000 bucks. It sports a 20" ×60" cushioned deck, a high-torque motor, and pulse sensors. Besides, you can track your calorie-burning and workout stats on the Xterra Fitness app.

3. What can you use to lubricate a treadmill belt?

After a certain period, you need to lubricate the tread belt on your treadmills. For Xterra treadmills, it's a hundred and eighty hours! If you have to workout all seven days a week, TRX3500 is a heavy-duty, low-maintenance treadmill you can try.

4. Is an incline treadmill better for walking?

Incline walking is easy on the joints. You can complete your treadmill workout routine with a bad knee if the running surface of your treadmill is forgiving enough. In that case, you'll like Xterra Fitness treadmills for your workout! They have adjustable speed and incline settings.

Final Thought

All things considered, we'll rate the Xterra TRX3500 4 out of 5. We took one star down for the lighter front and the missing chest strap. That’s all, folks! Our Xterra TRX3500 Treadmill review ends here. Thanks for reading!
